These web pages are to give you an interesting insight into the past, present and future of our chess club.
General information
Our chess club is situated right next to the river Spree in Nixenstr. 3 in what
may be the greenest of Berlin's districts. With a total of 77 members (on 1st Sept 2008,)
we are the biggest chess club in Treptow-Köpenick.
Apart from our chess club, TSG Oberschöneweide also incorporates 6 other clubs: fishing, indoor football, gymnastics, tennis, table tennis and volleyball.
Thanks to the district's local representatives and the hard work of many people who cannot be mentioned here, we are very privileged to play chess in our own club house were there is also a restaurant.
Even if our club house is being extensively renovated at the moment, here is a visual impression of what it looked like before the building work began.

When we play
Our regular meeting starts on Fridays at 6.30pm, but there is also a possibility
to play chess on the other days of the week either in the club house or in the open air.
It goes without saying that these possibilities are not only reserved for our members,
but for guests, too.
Membership Fees
There is a monthly membership fee which helps us keep our tournaments running,
cover our club house's operating expenses and pay for various other things. The fee
amounts to €11 for adult members (€8 reduction possible on request) and €6 for students.
It already includes a €2.50 fee for the Berliner Schachverband (Berlin Chess Federation.)
Donations
We continually seek to foster our children and young people in their abilities.
Moreover, we have to pay the expenses mentioned above. In order to do all this, our
registered non-profit club is always looking for sponsoring. Donations are always welcome.
